Spiritual Aberrations

Hallucinogenic and psychoactive plants have been used in many ways through out history. Many Cultures have manifested ways into altering the mind in order to attain a greater state of awareness. In primitive societies plants have a great value due to their use in practices such as divination and spiritual manifestation.

Plants may be eaten, fresh or dried; depending on the desired effect one wants to achieve.  Salvia divinorum. a very unique plant , derives its affects from  smoking or forming the leaves into a quid. The quid is then put in the mouth or under the tongue causing the juices to be absorbed which causes a mild but effective hallucinogenic state that would last quite longer than any other form of consumption. Many brews and beverages can be made using plants and vines such as Ayahuasca, B. Cappi, and Mimosa Hostilis. These beverages have a very distinct effect on the user, and has been used mainly by the primitive amazonian culture. These plants have also been known to heal the user of many ailments but for the most part, they cannot be scientifically proven. Cactus such a San Pedro  can induce a state where forgotten memories can manifest, a euphoric feeling where the users emotions are heightened and a feeling of pleasure can be felt through out the users experience.

Snuffs are other methods of manifesting a  psychoactives state, and it is a preferred method for plants such as  epena, sebil and indios.  Amanita Muscaria also know as fly agaric is one of the worlds commonly know psychoactive plants. These mushrooms are toasted or dried and then consumed. The effects of the mushroom once dried is commonly referred as a feeling of happiness bringing a dream like state. Plants such as these are not very well known, but the positive effects for most of the plants that are organic in nature can be and should be made known. There are many plants that bring about certain states of mind, and it all depends on what the user would like to attain; when consuming any given plant.
